The Faces of My Music
Music, by Oxford English definition is “The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre“. Music to most people though is much much more. As I’ve gone through life I’ve had music as a constant companion, whilst celebrating, mourning, travelling, sleeping, living and loving.

Hearing that song that me and 14 mates played on a car stereo, whilst travelling into Newquay one June in the 1990’s, brings back memories nearly as vivid as being there again. It was the Verve, Bittersweet Symphony. I remember we’d sat in the car for 7 hours, baking heat, and the tune belting out at a stupid volume felt like we’d triumphed over something. It set a tone for the week, and that it may be the best week ever. Having seen the Verve just 2 years later, packed into Earls Court, whilst surrounded by thousands of people… I was in Newquay, bathing in glorious sunshine.
It’s this that made me want to post this gallery. These are just some of the visual images that I’ve carried through my music over the years, in the past we’d clutch our CD in a queue in the shops, and stare at the cover. These images stir the same kind of emotions, and usually remind to go back and listen to one of the featured people.
Enjoy the gallery.
